This is the 6th and final book in the Sisters of the Heart Series, by Christine Feehan. This is Blythe and Viktor’s story and its also the introduction to Christine’s new series, Torpedo Ink. Torpedo Ink is Viktor’s Band of Brothers, the only ones who survived the training school he was sent to as a child. It’s also the penultimate end to a great series.
Viktor returns after 5 long years with no word from Blythe or his birth-brothers. He’s put his life and marriage on hold in order to bring down the biggest human-trafficker in the world. Evan Gratso’s is back, after burying his brother, he’s taken over the trafficking business and he’s out to kill Jackson Deveau and he wants Elle, Jackson’s wife.
Viktor, working undercover, is as close to killing Evan than he has been in five long years, but the violence and exploitation of innocents has taken its toll and he’s tired. His Band of Brothers need a base and peace from all of the abuse and trauma they received as children as they trained to become assassins. Viktor wants and needs his wife back, she’s his home and his band of brothers need her compassion and strength to heal from their childhood trauma.
Blythe has put her emotional life on hold, she has her sisters but never thought she’d see Viktor again after he killed her step-father and left without a word. Now, five years later, Viktor wants in, but she’s rebuilding her life without him, getting stronger and becoming the one her sisters depend on.
But, seeing him again, hearing his reasons, makes her think that maybe, just maybe, Viktor isn’t the bad guy…
This is one of the best in this series, and we finally get to see all of the Prakenskii brothers together as well as the Drake Sisters, who band together to stop Evan and his crew of criminals. I cannot wait for the Torpedo Ink series and have the Band of Brothers have their own stories, find peace and their own “home”.
