Vengeance Road: Torpedo Ink Series, Book 2 by Christine Feehan
Breezy Simmons was born into a ruthless motorcycle club—and now that she’s out, she’s never going to be that girl again. But when her past catches up with her, Breezy must go to Sea Haven to seek out the man who almost destroyed her. The man who chose his club over her and left her feeling used and alone.
As vice president of Torpedo Ink, Steele is ride or die for the brothers he lived through hell with. He never thought he’d find something as pure as his feelings for Breezy, or that keeping her safe would mean driving her away with cruel words that turned her love for him to ash.
Now, Steele won’t let her walk away twice. He’ll do whatever it takes to make Breezy his woman again—especially when he learns the real reason she came to him for help, and that the stakes are higher than he ever could have imagined…
I love this series, and as we are really 3 books into the series (I am including the initial “crossover” book from the Sisters of the Heart series), I can say that the more I learn about these “broken” men and women, the more I anticipate the next book. This is Steele and Breezy’s story, and this story has been going on as far back as the end of the Sisters of the Heart series and the beginning of the Torpedo Ink series, we just didn’t know it.
Breezy was young, too young to be forced into the realities of MC life. Living with and exploited by a cruel father and uncaring brother, Breezy is forced to do unspeakable things but she’s out now and has a reason to stay out. But they’ve found her, taking something so precious to her, she’s forced to find Steele and ask for his help.
Steele walked away from Breezy, too dazed by the revelation of her age and the important mission he must complete to realize what he was giving up (for her own good, of course). But, she’s back and with some information that will send Steele into a tailspin of ruthlessness and revenge. But he’s not giving her up this time and he’ll use any means at his disposal to keep her by his side and return what’s most precious to them both.
Great read! A little on the short side but action-packed and solid story-telling. Exactly what we’re used to seeing from Christine and the Torpedo Ink series. I wait in anticipation for these books. I love all the characters and we see some of our favorite Sea Haven characters as well. We cheer for this group of damaged men and women, as they attempt to navigate this mundane world they now live in.
