Review: Toxic Game by Christine Feehan, the 15th book in the GhostWalker Series.
This is Draden Freeman’s story.
The GhostWalker team is deployed to the Indonesian jungle on a rescue mission to extract the wounded medical and military personnel sent in to stop a lethal virus from spreading to the world. When Draden is infected, he elects to stay behind, and keep the world safe. He doesn’t know how long he has before the virus takes him but he’s going down fighting and will eliminate as many of the terrorists and their attempts to spread the virus, before he’s succumbs to the hellish death this virus will bring…
While out eliminating as many of the terrorist cell as possible, he literally stumbles over Shylah, another of Whitney’s female GhostWalkers and his ‘perfect’ partner. Shylah has been sent on a mission to assassinate those rogue doctors, who created the infectious disease and plan to sell it to the highest bidder. When she spies Draden smoothly and silently eliminating members of the cell, she is fascinated and watches as this silent killer mows through half the cell, knowing he must be a GhostWalker. When Draden is hit by a lucky shot and falls into the water, Shylah dives in to save him and exposes herself to the virus.
Racing against the little time they have left, they attempt to find a cure to save themselves as well as the world. Now that they’ve found each other, they will fight for their future together.
This is the 15th book in the GhostWalker series and I must say this series gets better and better with each new book. The detail Ms. Feehan adds to her stories is not only intricate and encompassing, she still makes the minutiae incredibly detailed without losing your interest in the explanation. Indeed, some of these stories seem real and possible… I cannot complain, as Ms. Feehan is a prolific writer, working on 3 or 4 series at a time, and all, have this level of perfection that makes any book from Christine Feehan, a “must-have”!
